Who the Performance
Team is

Performance Team at Step it Up Performing Arts
is an opportunity for dancers ages 6
and
up to showcase their skills and work to achieve goals, develop strong discipline,
and have fun!

About Performance Team

Joining this team requires complete dedication and excellent attendance. Dancers will be required to attend every scheduled performance (With exceptions to last-minute performance opportunities). As this is a team that works together, we will rely on each other to show up to every rehearsal. Missing practices and performances put a strain on routines and the advancement of other dancers. Timeliness is crucial as well. Excessive tardiness will be addressed. Excessive absences can result in loss of
team privileges and performances and potentially removal from the team. Valid excuses for missing a practice include sickness, loss of family members, pre-planned vacations, and miscellaneous reasons approved by the team coaches. Dancers or parents must notify coaches of absence at least 2 hours before the class begins, but please inform them as soon as you know the dancer cannot attend. Unexcused absences will not be tolerated.

Dancers are expected to maintain complete focus during team practices. We
understand the desire to mess around and be social during class, and there will be plenty of time for this before and after practice and at team bonding events; however, practice time is not the place for it. Dancers will be given three warnings for any sort of distraction caused in class.

There is a $30 audition fee that should be paid in cash or check at the start of the workshop.

Audition Details

Auditions will be held on September 27th. After the workshop, each dancer will receive a time slot to perform their routines in small groups. Dancers do not need to stay for the duration of the auditions. If the dancer cannot attend, please contact the coaches.

What We Are Looking For

-Recollection of choreography
-Evidence of practice after the workshop
-Ability to perform (Facials, confidence, does not reference other dancers, clean movements)
-Stamina
-Flexibility (Does not impact qualification for the team, just a measure)
-Additional tricks (Does not impact qualification for the team, just a measure)

Results will be sent out the following week with selected dancers. Information about next steps will be sent to those who have earned a spot on the team. Please note that enrollment at Step it Up Performing Arts does not guarantee a place on the team.

We look forward to seeing you all at auditions and are excited for the season to begin! Feel free to contact Step it Up Performing Arts with questions regarding the performance team or auditions.

Coaches

The Performance Team coaches are dedicated to providing
the best quality classes possible. With years of
experience below their belt as both dancers and teachers, dancers are in great hands! All coaching responsibilities will be split between all coaches equally, but they all have individual jobs on the director's side of the team.
